The concept The Critical Mass, as its called in English, originates from San Francisco, 1992, and has spread out to the rest of a world. Last Friday each month cyclists, skaters, rollers etc meets up and rides together through the city.
Yesterday, the 29th of April was the first La Masse Critique in Lille organised by the team of Velorution. And what a success, 160 people — on bikes, grand bi, cargo bikes, fixies, vintage bikes, roller skates, some dressed up in glitter capes and some with music in the their bikes – were gathered to ride through the streets, creating a strong awareness about biking in a fun, loose and friendly atmosphere.
So put a mark in your calendar, next trip will be the 27 of May – be there or be square!
